Some unauthorised sellers advertise the VD700 as the “VD700 PRO Enhanced” to imply additional software or upgraded features. However, this has been officially confirmed by ANCEL HQ to be false — both devices are identical in hardware and functionality.
The VD700 is simply the upgraded model above the more basic VD500. No separate “Enhanced” version exists, which can also be verified on ANCEL’s official software update website where only the VD700 is listed.

What makes this tool ‘dealer-level’?
Many people don’t realize that generic OBD-II scanners are not the same as professional diagnostic tools. The OBD-II protocol or rather the EOBD (European On-Board Diagnostics) protocol used in the UK and the EU has been legally mandatory for emissions reasons for petrol vehicles since January 1, 2001 and diesel vehicles since January 1, 2004. However, the OBD-II protocol has been in use in many vehicles across the world since 1996, having originated in the United States.
The OBD-II/EOBD interface refers to the standardized 16-pin diagnostic port, while the OBD-II/EOBD protocol consists of multiple communication standards (ISO 9141-2, KWP2000, J1850 VPW, J1850 PWM, ISO 15765 CAN).
